The Obscure Organization
When the Letters, residents of the Reality known as Lettroland, encountered their first antagonists, no one suspected that No-Face, the artificial intelligence in charge of the Obscure Organization, actually came from our world.
No-Face, who is only loyal to the Founder of the Organization, is not an AI gone rogue. No-Face is an AI designed to do evil. Thus, when this underworld boss 2.0 is called upon to “do a favor”, he generally does so in the most harmful possible way.
He used to appear in the form of eyes and a malevolent smile—in short, a simplified face, which is ironic considering his name. Following Project Qwice, No-Face freed himself from any graphical interface.
The one who pulls the strings of the Obscure Organization. Very few know his true motivations. For a long time, the Author himself was unaware of them. Digging into his past, we see that the Conductor is a deeply complex man, and his motivations are as intricate as the balance between yin and yang.
Since becoming the Conductor, he permanently wears dark sunglasses and wireless headphones, directly connected to his phone. During 2025, this equipment evolved. His new, extremely sophisticated headphones grant him a limited omniscience of the events taking place around the comic panels or story paragraphs in which he finds himself.
Recruited by the Mask on behalf of O², Maxime Desarbres lost his leg during the same mission that cost his partner an eye. He thereafter went by the name the Peglegged, and his partner the One-Eyed, whom he eventually betrayed for the sole purpose of securing his own promotion.
An upstart and social climber, the Peglegged is the most underestimated agent in the Organization. Regularly enduring the taunts of the Wild Card, he nonetheless managed to become the Conductor's right-hand man. His career reached a point of no return when he married a literal and very real reader of this story, with whom he had a charming little girl whose identity we cannot decently disclose in this profile.

Attempted murders on behalf of a criminal organization; complicity in various crimes and misdemeanors including at least one attempted murder; carrying a firearm without a license; having pronounced “pain au chocolat” in a region where they say “chocolatine”; kidnapping of public figures; unlawful confinement; identity theft; animal cruelty; housebreaking; hit-and-run; flying a seaplane without a license; trading card trafficking; purse snatching; robbery; abuse of weakness.
No one could have suspected Célia Cobalt, representative of the philanthropic company Oxygen, of being the Organization's most dangerous agent. Yet, the Wild Card has always been one step ahead. Behind her purple eyes hides an extremely capable femme fatale, so much so that during Project Qwice in 2025, the Conductor brought her directly from 2019.

Multiple kidnappings of public figures; unlawful confinement; criminal association with an obsolete mascot; extortion; other undisclosed crimes; probable connections with the extreme-center.
The suspect is HIGHLY DANGEROUS and probably armed. DO NOT APPROACH HER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Before losing an eye, The Peglegged's partner was above all a force of nature. Perhaps that is why his sidekick leaves him the luxury of doing most of the dirty work. Unfortunately for him, during Project Alys, the Peglegged betrayed him. He did try to assert his righteous anger during Project Qwice, but it quickly fell flat.

Attempted murders on behalf of a criminal organization; carrying a firearm without a license; hit-and-run; insulting an officer in the line of duty; supporting the conspiracy theory that Philippe Laglue (from Tours) does not exist; aggravated archivophobia.
The Ghost is a concept. The Organization let No-Face play around with ChatGPT, giving birth to this extraordinary, but above all extremely cliché agent. Appearance, lines, everything was decided by the artificial intelligence. This reason also drew the wrath of the Killer upon him.
There is not much more to say about this agent, as his very real abilities were hindered by his own artificiality. A few months after his sensational entrance, the Ghost died of a spontaneous cardiac arrest.
A former hitman wanted by the police of eight separate countries, the Killer left behind his wife, children, homeland, and even his universe of origin. To escape justice, this man from 1976 agreed to follow the Conductor and joined the Organization during Project Qwice. Rational, he only kills the targets designated to him.
The Killer cordially hated the Ghost, but since the latter perished, they never had the opportunity to come to blows.
Diagnosed as a psychopath at the age of six, Émilie is a prime recruit for O². From the age of seven and a half, she aspired to take the Wild Card's place when she grew up.
Since this type of profile has a great future in companies like ours, she can be found in her early twenties, armed with a left-handed Rickenbacker 4001 (but of course, a girl as gifted as Émilie is ambidextrous) as part of the Jam project.
In the 1950s, the descendant of a family that had fled Ireland for France became a continuity announcer for French television. But Catherine O’Ceross, who felt out of place there, fell into a deep depression.
It was as she was leaving a mass at Notre-Dame de Paris that the young woman met the Conductor, who offered her the opportunity of a lifetime. She seized it immediately. Thus perished Catherine O’Ceross. Thus was born the Oratrix.
O²'s costume designer, an eccentric diva originally from Montpellier, designs the costumes and clothes worn by members of the Organization. Because we have standards.
In 2019, Nicole Égram took care of Alys's costume for her concert at the Scottish castle of Mac Rocosm, at Loch Attair.
Our costume designer has an extraordinary eye for detail. If a button is slightly unstitched on your jacket, you can be sure she will notice it. Obviously having good taste, Nicole Égram appreciates, among other things, the Crémet d’Anjou, as well as the Fondant Baulois—the real one, not the pale, inedible copy unfortunately genuinely marketed under the name “Baulois”.
A generic fast-food employee, Nathan Decharjeman previously worked for Positive Burgers, the fast-food restaurant run by Oxygen, the Organization's philanthropic front company.
When the Wild Card brought him in for Project Qwice, Nathan took the opportunity to present his greatest culinary invention to the world: the egg sun, consisting of a fried egg embedded in an omelette.
Faced with his employee's extraordinary creativity, the Conductor had no choice but to give him a role more suited to his talents. It is not for us to detail here what this role consists of, as it is one of the most top-secret positions in our company.
The son of Nathan and the Oratrix, Finn is one of our youngest recruits. Since 2044, he’s been in a relationship with the Psycho (how the two of them manage to make it work remains a mystery). Better known as the Shift, he’s also an outstanding trombone player.
That’s precisely why we sent him and his lovely girlfriend across time and space to bring Project Jam to life.
Here he is, the one without whom all this machinery would not work. His very presence questions the entirety of the medium, for who is to say that the nonsense he spouts is not actually happening?
In 2012, as part of an unrelated comic strip where he already appeared as a character, he obtained the Power to Break the Fourth Wall™. He has never parted with this faculty. However, by diluting it in the present narrative, the Author deprived himself of one of its most practical aspects: the ability to free oneself from the panels of a comic strip.
As for the rest? It's confidential.
His identity at this stage is an open secret, but do us a favor and pretend you don't know. The Founder launched No-Face to assault Lettroland in 2001 and recruited The Conductor in 2015 to make him the executive leader of the Obscure Organization. With his extraordinary abilities, he had no trouble wiping out his opponent, private detective Éric Antony, during Project Qwice.
As for the rest? It's confidential.
In charge of the Organization in the Reality in which Project Alys took place, the Mask himself recruited the best agents of O², including the Peglegged, the One-Eyed, the Wild Card, and Nicole Égram. He thinks highly of himself and loves to punctuate his cliché monologues with evil laughter.
When the Conductor decided to drop his Reality and not even take him along, the Mask contented himself with continuing to run Oxygen and Positive Burgers, brooding over his hatred day after day between two vegan menus.
The Mask's underling is probably the least interesting character on this page, all the more so because he has the misfortune of being named Timéo.
As for his total lack of hair, it is explained by an unfortunate accident that occurred in a Slovenian amusement park. Since then, he no longer visits haunted houses.
Against all likelihood, this giant french fry with arms and legs is a marvel of technology. Freet Funny, a highly sophisticated robot controlled by AI, is a being of proverbial impertinence. It seems he is capable of using the ancestral shinobi technique known as smoke bombs to get himself out of the worst situations.
Born in 1848, this specialist in French gastronomy only spent a few years as the chef of Mac Rocosm Castle, located on the shores of Loch Attair, in Scotland: unfortunately, an accident occurred in his kitchen in 1875, and he died.
He became a ghost, haunted the castle, and continued his culinary career for anyone who felt a bit peckish in the middle of the night, making him a ghost of rare kindness and extraordinary selflessness.
During 2025, over the course of the Qwice project, the Wild Card managed to convince him to become an employee of the Obscure Organization. Since then, Mac Rocosm Castle is no longer haunted. The curious can still visit Attairy, the strange creature of the Loch.
