It all begins in 2001, when a young boy imagines an AI named No-Face.
Ironically sporting an extremely simplified face, this program first appears in Lettroland, a universe populated by anthropomorphic alphabet letters. Alongside a group of shady individuals, No-Face launches a crime syndicate to seize control of the place: the Obscure Organization - or, in the original version, l'Organisation de l'Ombre.
In 2019, on an Earth much closer to our own, Alice Corail — French singer and part-time detective — is on the road to Scotland with her producer and her best friend for a holiday. Little do they know they are being followed by agents of that very same syndicate, intent on capturing the singer and silencing a few witnesses along the way. After events worthy of the most breathless thrillers, this iteration of the virtual singer is saved… but how many have vanished from their respective Realities?
For O² is unlike any other organization. More startup than criminal empire, the conglomerate leverages the expertise of its leader, the Conductor, also called Maestro by his employees, to travel across Time and Realities, treating time and fiction alike as places to explore — for every fiction conceived by the human mind gives rise to a new Reality ripe for exploitation.
In 2025, the group sets its sights on a French social network, Qwice. At the same time, a shocking truth is revealed concerning American president Donald Trump. But above all, for the first time, the Obscure Organization directly affects the real world, directly influencing the choice of the network's mascot.
The Organization's adventures — non-linear by nature — unfold across an infinite playground, taking whatever form is needed to extend its reach: webcomic, novel, web interface…
If you are on this page, you will most likely be unable to catch up with the parts of the story available in French only. That is perfectly fine. Hop aboard anyway. Some stories are or will be available in English, and nothing stops you from getting acquainted with our team by browsing the top-secret files we've conveniently left open…
Disclaimer: the Obscure Organization rejects both Manichaean thinking and ideology as narrative engines, and deliberately uses artificial intelligence solely as a creative assistant within stories that remain entirely human in their conception, writing and staging. So please put that flamethrower back where you found it before someone gets hurt.
